Americans know as much about Canada as straight people do about gays. Americans arrive at the border with skis in July, and straight people think that being gay is just a phase. A very long phase.

When you think of the level of anger, I'm not sure it's what Americans want.

African-Americans know I spent part of my childhood in public housing, I am a natural heir of the Reagan revolution.

The Americans will say they have the right to innocent passage, but it's complicated by the fact that this is extremely dangerous cargo and there is extreme risk to our citizens and to the environment,

the clear choice Americans face in November between progress and growth and the politics of pessimism.
