Olive was a beautiful and ambitious young girl and went to stay with an aunt in New York City, where she took a job in a department store. In 1914, she entered and won The Most Beautiful Girl in New York City contest run by celebrated commercial artist Howard Chandler Christy.

All of these women hold a niche in the illustrious history of our region. We are proud of their association with our Mon Valley and they deserve any recognition that comes their way.

There are so many women from throughout the Mon Valley who have distinguished themselves in a variety of successful careers. Today we are directing our attention to four who made their marks in the entertainment business, but we really want to expand this recognition in the future to include women from other communities in the Valley.

They had been friends for many years and we were delighted to see Lisa in person. She was a very beautiful woman, very refined, and her story was very inspirational to us.

Natalie is a very talented and beautiful young woman.

By 1920, Olive had become one of the brightest young stars in America.
