Of the three gates at Midway, two already have cameras. The gate at 55th and Laramie was the one gate that did not.

The program is far less appealing and less effective if only a handful of airports offer it.

This would not have happened if the FAA would not have imposed flight caps. They are a short-term solution to a long-term problem.

At Midway, the Department of Aviation has plans to install approximately 300 landside and airside cameras over the next 12 months at a cost of $1.5 million.

The biggest reason we are not surprised at being No. 2 is the FAA flight caps have had a major impact on our ability to expand. It simply makes the case for an accelerated modernized O'Hare.

We are prepared to have about 200 travelers stay with us overnight because of these problems.
