This book is great, the idea is great and her voice is great. She has tremendous talent.

It was fantastic. Everyone here who read it thought it was so fresh and lively and funny. You immediately felt so much for this character. The parents were great. They're hilarious. But they're supportive parents. They do misguided things, but they want the best for her. It's a different image of overbearing parents. ... Here, you see the love there as well.

Not to say that authors are all such sourpusses, but you meet the author in the best possible way, on the written page. I am at my best there, more patient, more thoughtful.
