Nobody loves the game of baseball more than Pete Rose Jr.. If you could take his desire and his heart and his guts and put it in a more talented body, you'd have one of the greatest players of all time.

We are having conversations about it. We're going to take a look at this and see if it makes sense for both sides. If it doesn't, we'll do a one-year deal and there will be no problems whatsoever.

There are several insights at the heart of the A's system that I think are wonderful for baseball. One, that it's a team game. That no one player is going to make that much of a difference to your team, so for god's sake don't go blow a quarter of your budget on one guy.

Our players played with a lot of heart and desire. I really felt our team depth played a big part in the game and we were not as tired mentally and physically at the end of the game.
