It's a very difficult environmental problem. Mercury is an element. It doesn't go anywhere. It just keeps cycling through the environment. Ultimately, we're going to have to sequester it.

I think it's a bit of a negotiating stance.

Our lakes and rivers are already contaminated with mercury. We need to reduce emissions, not add to them.

The great thing about some of these pieces is that they are all unique. The particular statue is mercury and this is made of lead.
