My volunteers are all ages. I have students from Palm Beach Atlantic University, working mothers and fathers, attorneys and retirees.

So far, we've given out 104 cards this year. We want every child to have a card and know that this is their library.

I want to teach them how to read to children. It's really very different from reading to yourself.

And our volunteers don't just go in and read. They bring them presents, they bring them treats.

It was horrible to hear the children's screams. Some children were yelling for their mothers and fathers.
