My parents are like religious atheists.

I could never call myself an atheist; my parents could, quite happily. I always felt like there was a little bit more out there, and was always into observing the world from a slightly more spiritual, as opposed to scientific, perspective.

We're from the even more religious area, Utah Valley, and [I] remember as I grew up parents would move their kids aside when I would walk by.

For parents that are very firm in their religious beliefs, I don't see any problem with that.

If atheists don't believe in God then why do they keep attacking Him?

Atheists can live without God but they cannot live without water, food and air, which were created by God.
