My mother passed away on May 24.

I always wanted to be a model. This is my big opportunity to figure out how that walk is supposed to go.

I've learned a lot. I've learned to be myself and not be afraid to try new things. How can I say it? To not be afraid to accomplish something new.

It runs through the blood, ... My mother is an actress. I grew up in the theatre. I am an actress. I acted before I even sang, in fact. And it's perfect for me. I feel the connection between music and film is very close. Both are very passionate and very much about evoking an emotion from people, and so that is my plan.

I've stepped more into my womanhood, I'm a mother now, I'm having a beautiful relationship as a wife and as a friend.

I love my heritage! I have my mother, who is an Irish-Italian, and my father who is African, so I have the taste buds of an Italian and the spice of an African.
