My love for science and logic are philosophically tempered by an experience of human life that renders me utterly skeptical toward any arguments promoting faith in atheism.

Scientific experiments can explain the mystery of the human soul about as well as rain explains the ocean or sight explains light.

Why do modern college professors who parrot the beliefs of materialistic determinism continue to attack Christian but not Muslim faith? Is Islam too volatile and vengefully violent? Or do they think Christians should be able to bear such pseudo-intellectualism with shoulders as broad as those of their Savior, Who bore the sinful folly of the whole world?

Against beliefs in extinction of self at bodily death or loss of identity in reincarnation stands the truly human-friendly hope celebrated by Easter faith: a personal, immortal reintegration of body, soul and spirit for which Jesus Christ’s Resurrection is the prototype.

You must picture me alone in that room in Magdalen, night after night, feeling, whenever my mind lifted even for a second from my work, the steady, unrelenting approach of Him whom I so earnestly desired not to meet. That which I greatly feared had at last come upon me. But who can duly adore that Love which will open the high gates to a prodigal who is brought in kicking, struggling, resentful, and darting his eyes in every direction for a chance of escape? The words “compelle intrare,” compel them to come in, have been so abused be wicked men that we shudder at them; but, properly understood, they plumb the depth of the Divine mercy. The hardness of God is kinder than the softness of men, and His compulsion is our liberation.
