My first priority is school. I try real hard to study and get my work done whenever I have free time. I do my homework before practice—that way I'm free for both basketball and the play.

My dad has had the biggest effect on me. He played Division III basketball in college. He got me into it early and coached me when I was younger. He's supported me all along and has really kept me motivated.

The director knows that right now basketball is tops, so he works around that.

We had some ups and downs and some tough times in the middle of the year, but we stuck with it and bounced back. Coach [George] Braun is an excellent coach and he really had a lot to do with our success. He's like me—he's competitive and he likes to win.

High school was interesting, because I went from a public school middle school to an academy where the first year we were doing Latin, chemistry, biology. I mean, I was woefully unprepared for the type of study.

Our opponents say he shouldn't be president because he didn't study in an Ivy League school and because he doesn't use the language of globalization. The (previous presidents) spoke good English and went to good universities, but their programs weren't positive; they didn't generate growth or reduce poverty.
