Mentally, it was frustrating, because on paper we had a good chance this year. It just didn't work out.

He just knows how to pound the zone once he gets ahead. He just lets his defense work for him. He's a smart pitcher. He knows what he's doing.

He had the best slider I've seen him have in four years. It looked like a fastball before you swung, then it just dropped.

What can I say,

Tonight, it looked like a fastball, ... and as soon as you swung, the bottom dropped out of it.

Maybe they've just got the itch when it comes to Tigers pitching. I can't figure it out. I'm waiting for them to go into a slump against us, for crying out loud.
