Many students paid their prom expenses using a combination of their own earnings and money given to them by their parents and other family members.

Our volunteers' hearts and souls are with these students and you can't pay for that. Money can't buy that kind of commitment.

It's such a perfect opportunity for parents to work with their kids on a financial spending plan to talk about what's important. With a little bit of planning, the money part of (prom) should not be what you remember most.

Young adults can learn a valuable financial lesson planning for prom expenses. With a budget, they can still have the night of their lives while avoiding the nightmare of overspending.

We do have to be really proactive with some students, and it's helping, I think. We're seeing the results, and we saw results in October testing. It really did have an impact.

Once somebody learns it's like a miracle to them. We tripled our students that year. We were visible and we had the money to add staff.
