Man works outwardly and inwardly - after rest, he has energy; after energy, he needs repose; so, when we have given instruction for a time, we need instruction and must receive it, or the spirit faints and wisdom herself grows bitter.

Let the past be content with itself, for man needs forgetfulness as well as memory.

In order to do good, a man must be good; and he will not be good except he have instruction by counsel and by example.

We don't receive wisdom; we must discover it for ourselves after a journey that no one can take for us or spare us.

Players don't need rest. If someone is injured and needs time to recuperate, that's one thing. But players need to go out and play. One of the things that can happen if you take a player off the field is that he loses his edge by standing on the sidelines.

It needs rest, but there's no time for that.
