Low-income families who file at the VITA site may qualify for a substantial Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC).

The EITC is a credit based on earned income. To qualify, the individual must be working and must be a citizen. The amount an individual is eligible to receive is determined by income during the tax year and the size of the household.
