Level land is a rare commodity in the steep slopes of southern West Virginia.

The overall tone and scope of the amended rules, from what I saw, were clearly an improvement over the initially filed rules.

The number of people employed in natural resources and mining in Logan County has increased by at least 500. There is increased confidence in the coal industry and the positive long-term outlook is spelling positive results for the Logan County area.

Is that the practical number? Are the numbers exactly right? There's a disparity about that.

Things begin to run together. You begin to wonder how you could ever get a purposeful line out of all this.

Certainly, remembering everyone that's been affected, and we're learning from that. What we have to do is go forward, and going forward with the youth of West Virginia, and this is such an important event for them.
