Let the Letter stay for the Post, and not the Post for the Letter

He that scatters Thorns, let him not go barefoot

Let thy maidservant be faithful, strong, and homely

Nor Eye in a letter, nor Hand in a purse, nor Ear in the secret of another

Great wits jump (says the Poet) and hit his Head against the Post

He that is rich need not live sparingly, and he that can live sparingly need not be rich
