Laura could win a point with a passing shot or she could volley her way to a point. She is a skilled player. In terms of strategy, I would tell her what I might do, then step back and get out of her way.

I realized right away that having Laura was going to be a good thing for us.

They both hated to lose and they were both great team leaders. Pam made her teams better and Laura did the same. Each was willing to work with their teammates to make them better players.

I'd much rather shoot a bird over point than take a passing shot at one that just flushed wild, just because I happened to be at the end of the field. If you get a bird this time of year, it's really a bonus for you and the dog.

I think that if you're sitting on the sidelines you could realize that a three-point shot is needed at those moments in time. Kids sometimes have some mental lapses, and unfortunately we had them.
