Last year's team had some of this. This year's team hasn't had this yet. They anticipated it at Ohio State, but this was a great learning experience for us and one that will help us the rest of the way.

This is the best schedule I've had in 33 years at Ohio State. The fields are so deep and so competitive. We always try to play a tough schedule because you have to see where you stand. It is important to play tough competition. And we expect to do well. You don't get any points for showing up. We have to take advantage of these opportunities.

When you become No. 1 and everybody talks about how much you're going to kill the other team and they've done nothing but lose and you're on the road, it's at night and it's cold, it's a trap game.

What Penn State has allowed Joe to do is unusual. They've allowed him to hang in there through some tough years and just shows you that consistency is really, really important in college programs.

If you cannot have your best game out there and still score 52 points, that just shows you this team has a chance to be really special,
