Kwanzaa is a holiday that should be celebrated by everyone, not just the black community.

That right there is a wonderful opportunity for the children. How often do students from all over the community get to interact and learn about one another?

I'm having the hardest time promoting Kwanzaa in this area. But I'm working on it.

I became interested in all the history of African-American people that had been left out of school and history books.

We've talked to different businesses in community where the kids would work at the hospital, Wal-Mart, Holiday Inn Express ... We could do more if we had more time and more manpower. But that is the most successful program they have been involved in.

The community turned out for those. It´s not just a job out here. It´s about an expanded community,
