Kids that age are only awake 12 hours a day, so we have a generation of children who are watching television 10-20 percent of their waking lives - and that's a dramatic increase.

There's very little research (in that age group), but what's been done shows reason to be concerned.

This is a day for kids. This is a day that brings out the children in all of us. You can imagine when you were 8 years old or 10 years old how, with such reverence, you viewed the phrase 'pitchers and catchers report.' And on a day when New England is blanketed with snow, the reminder that pitchers and catchers report in a few days by virtue of the van leaving, those are good words. Those are soothing to any New Englander's soul.

I'd rather my son be with children his own age.

Children keep their molars until age 12. Keeping the baby teeth in is also important because they hold the spaces for permanent teeth.
