I've said it since the beginning of the year. We might not have the state champions we had last year, but we're as good a team, an actual team, as I've ever coached.

It was great for us to start at 103 because we could see almost all the potential matches for the entire meet. Pittsville has a good team and they wrestled tough. I think the biggest difference was we won the close matches.

These kids are all really close, and they've proved that all year by being a fantastic team. They proved it by all dying their hair, although I know some fathers and mothers who are going to be pretty upset.

The 14 guys wrestle so well together. There's no superstars, and nobody's out there to be the hero. We have just a bunch of guys on the same page doing their jobs.

We had an OK first round today, but we didn't get a lot out of the rest of the day. We didn't finish our moves, we were just kind of were dead. We're going to come back tomorrow, though, and hopefully still get some medals.

There's no easy draw here. If you win a match and you're dog tired, guess what? You've got another match waiting for you.
