I've never been a fan of this 'manage the game' stuff. It doesn't make sense to pay guys to make plays, then tell them to go out and not make mistakes. If that's truly your goal, why would you ever have your quarterback drop back and throw a pass?

The humbling part for me is going to be some kid or some fan that in years to come walks into Texas Stadium and sees my name and that will bring up an emotion or memory of something I achieved on the field, ... That's the humbling part of it, and to be alongside some of the great names in the history of this franchise. It means a lot.

Coach Thompson comes to just about every game and those guys who played for him and Coach Baggot talk about how they used to just terrorize teams with their defense. Coach Hicks is here a lot and we talk a lot, and his teams obviously were great defensively. ... That tradition is an advantage we have.

There's a lot more stuff that goes on during the game than happened there. I'm an intense player and he's a competitor. It's all part of being competitive, that's all.

Their keeper was the difference in the game. He stood on his head and did stuff that I haven't seen other keepers do. Even when he was jumping out of the way, the ball seemed to hit him.

I've always viewed myself as an achiever. I need to achieve for myself.
