I've had a terrible time with some of the members just getting them to think there was something out there besides the steel mill.

They're not experienced at looking for a job, and they've been out of the loop for awhile.

The last three or four years have told people in the region that nothing is secure. You have to take control of your career.

Now it's 30 years later, and you're not needed anymore.

Many had never looked for a job.
