I've been to this jazz festival more than any other. This is my favorite, I'd have to say. I have a lot of good friends that I've made over the past 25 years.

They said, 'Why don't you make a hit record?' I said, 'It's not a big deal.' Because jazz musicians, there was a syndrome there. And the first record I had out was (Lesley Gore's) 'It's My Party.' I was trying to get her to change her name and I had to go to Tokyo for three weeks. I said, 'We'll fix it when I get back.' So, as soon as I got back it was No. 1. We did it, man. We had 19 hits in four years. Unbelievable.

They have some hallways and offices and stairwells blocked. We have to go out and around the building to receive packages. It's not convenient at all We have a little bit of a concern whenever county government is closed and we're not closed, that's always tough because people doing business with (the) school system have to come in through security, the front door will not be open.

I think we have outgrown our three levels here. We definitely need more office space. We've chopped these levels up, so we're hoping the county will understand our needs and provide us with a larger facility.

In each attendance zone, the most recent high schools that we have were designed to be career and technical academies.

I guess I was so busy building my business that I really never gave it much thought until now. We've obviously always been a woman-owned business -- I just wanted to make it official.
