It's the governor's lead issue this year, and he's going to broker a deal with the House and Senate.

The Senate and the House are at loggerheads, and it would be virtually impossible for the leaders of those two houses to be close friends under those circumstances. It would lead to suspicions from their respective caucuses.

There is a real incumbent advantage, because the line between campaigning and Senate duties is very thin.

The bill is way too broad and engenders a lot of emotion. We need to get through the emotion to the facts.

I don't believe we can get out of town until we take action on this bill.

We have a real opportunity on renewable fuels to take this to a whole new level in Iowa.
