It's one thing to demonstrate on campus with students and faculty and quite another when it comes to disrupting medical facilities.

It's unfortunate that before we even arrived at the meeting place yesterday, the students who called for the meeting had announced another public protest. It felt like they were more interested in getting publicity for themselves than they were in hearing if any real progress could be made or an agreement could be established.

We want to make sure students aren't being preached to.

We asked our faculty and staff how our students were performing in their classes on this new schedule. We asked them to compare it to the fall, when students were going Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The numbers were overwhelming. They said the students performed better.

He has so dramatically improved. He's a very intelligent kid, one of the top students in his class. He works very hard at it. He's played all year-round this last year, gone to tournaments and worked hard. His mental toughness and some pretty good strokes have helped him climb the ladder.

We conceived the exhibit as a chance to display the various kinds of creative process graduate students at Washington U. engage in. Some of their work was done as part of professional development; other work was created in the student's spare time for a therapeutic release from the usual routine of course work and research.
