It's one of those storms that keeps giving.

Last year, we just got brushed by two tropical storms [what was left of Frances and Jeanne], and we had people lose power from six to 10 days.

The first thing we notice in these storms is the X-rays, which travel at the speed of light and can cause radio blackouts.

Consistent maintenance is more effective. But it isn't sexy. It isn't a ribbon-cutting event.

It's been like living in the middle of a hurricane that keeps going and going.

We've taken out close to 500 cubic yards. We will be asking (the state Department of Land & Natural Resources) to do some erosion control to stabilize the area. Something needs to be done.
