It's no secret that the Building Trades workers in the state of Minnesota look at the bonding bill as a real source of their livelihood and in that vein, it's never big enough. But in reality, this one could and should be bigger.

Under these agreements projects are built on time and under budget. That is why they have been used to build major public works projects like the Hiawatha Light Rail Line, the Minnesota Department of Revenue Building and the Orville L. Freeman Office Building. All contractors have the opportunity to work under a project labor agreement, union and non-union alike.

Unfortunately the governor once again has allowed his agenda to be hijacked by a right-wing fringe group . . . The governor should have respected the democratic process and let the Legislature decide whether project labor agreements benefit the State of Minnesota.

Ninety percent of the cases that we know about in Hong Kong and Hanoi are hospital workers and the remaining cases are people who were in close contact with hospital workers,

I'm not talking just about skill sets - I'm talking about the basic supply of workers.

[In addition,] younger workers are understandably concerned about whether Social Security will be around when they need it, ... This is more than a problem to be solved. It's also an opportunity.
