It's more like a badge or the audio version of a concert T-shirt. It tells people, 'I'm a fan of this music.' The real question is, will ring tones maintain the interest of the public, or is it a pet rock?

That's where the growth is. The chart is dominated by hip-hop, in part because it sounds OK as a polyphonic ring tone. Most types of music don't. With a master tone, that problem goes away. You could bring in soccer moms, Joe six-pack, country fans.

Because the bottom line is, we have to protect the innocent people who are out there, behind the wheel, going to church, going to school, going to work, going to shop, and they have the right to feel some safety and security.

Everybody wants proclamations; I am trying to elevate what a proclamation is, ... When people die, I don't think that is appropriate to have a proclamation. I think a letter of condolence is more in order.

More people cross picket lines and think less about the consequences.

Entertainment history is now the main source of supposedly historical knowledge for more and more people, but 'histo-tainment' is superficial and lacks all context.
