I went into this not for the money, but to help the group of young riders, ... Basso proposed me to come to CSC to help with the Tour de France, but the project was not well defined.

It's a pity but I'm not going to give up. I'm either going to win the Giro or I'm going to blow the race apart trying.

I think that our rivals are afraid of us because they can see that we're united. And when I say that I don't just mean what we say in press conferences but in the key moments of the Giro when our team tactics are our winning edge.

Most of the people know about the man who introduced football to Brazil, although I didn't know he was born in Sao Paulo. I've watched some old videos of Charles Miller in Brazil. He loved British football and I think he created a very good mixture of British football and Brazilian football.
