It's easier to hit home runs when it's faster. I don't think about getting a number of hits in a game. I just try to get on base every time. Numbers are kind of a waste of time.

They scored five runs on two hits. We can't do that many more times. We hit guys, walked 'em — we can't keep doing that late in games.

The one thing that I'm really excited about is when he hits the ball, he runs like his pants are on fire. I love that. Our team is not very fast. ... But when [Crisp] comes out of the box, they better get it in or he's going to go to second. That's an aspect that we haven't had a lot. That will be fun to watch. You can already tell by the way he plays the game. He's going to do it every time. It's part of his game.

(Training) doesn't get easier; you just get faster

They are decent teams, but, obviously, we didn't hit very well, and when we did, we didn't string our hits together.

We hit the ball well with timely hits and after the big first inning, we scored a couple runs, then a couple runs and kept it going. Plus we had a chance to get Brandon Wyman into the game. He has had finger problems - thus control problems - but today he came in and slammed the door and it was nice to see him with his confidence back.
