It's disappointing, but the people have spoken,

The major trend is a cleaning-up. It's not quite the minimalism of the '90s. It's more refined. We've had season after season of all this embellishment, the ruffled gypsy skirts, the colors. It's nice to see a woman in a white shirt. I think it's as sexy as anything.

Everything's been so overembellished, I think there's a move to a more clean, refined approach, although not like the minimalism of the '90s, ... having a sorbet after a heavy meal.

We hear this a lot from customers, and I don't think it's a North-South thing. We're in New York now, and it's still boiling hot. ... Even though the fall clothes look beautiful, psychologically, you can't be bothered trying them on.

I'm not sure what we're going to do now, ... The thing we do know is the students are coming. Classes are going to be more crowded.

What can I say, we're obviously disappointed, ... At some point, we're going to have to sit down and revisit what we proposed
