It's always hard to get anybody to cover (patients); it's not like there's a lot of downtime, If you're sick enough, you're going to spread this, you should be home or away from patients.

Once they're in the room, they're patients like everybody else. If they have enough confidence in you to be their physician, I don't think you have to worry about that.

As a physician (the philosophy) is not to treat thyself but go seek help from another physician if you are sick.

I was paralyzed, ... It was sick, sick, sick. They are not human. It's so hard to watch because there seems to be more wounded every hour.

I enjoy the acuteness of situations. I enjoy treating patients and not waiting. I like to be able to have my patients under my hand. I feel bad when they go home. I want to know what's going on. I want to call them the next day and make sure everything is OK.

It's better to be healthy alone than sick with someone else.
