It'll be a tough match down there. I've heard they've got a couple kids who are really low this year. We're going to need a good effort and it's the first time away from home. That always makes a difference.

Mike's done a good job. The kids understand what their strengths are, and they execute for the most part.

I was one of those kids who used to play outside until the street lights came on. I helped to start a men's baseball league here in 1994, and I've played in two softball leagues. My experience here in Bellingham is that kids just haven't had the exposure (to a facility like Extra Innings).

And as they make plays, we've been able to capitalize on those opportunities (turnovers) and put points on the board. It could be an improved cognitive function or a personality trait. We're not sure. But we know whatever consequence they render is highly favored by selection.

We have world-class facilities in Davis, ... We have a good place for our kids to go to school. We need to keep them that way by reinvesting money into the care of them.
