It started with the leadoff walk to Cora and the walk to Damon. Those two are things you can't do against the Red Sox. You've got to get in the zone. You've got to make pitches. Ervin was a little bit off.

The last month of the season I think there were a lot of similarities that started to manifest in our club that did in 2002. I think our situational hitting all of a sudden got back to where it needed to be, we're running bases well. We're going to get a chance to get into our game hopefully, and if it can emerge like it did in 2002, we have a chance to get on that roll.

Bart has been a little stiff the last couple of days. It started to knot up in the sixth and I said enough is enough. He's a little tight right now, but we don't think it will affect his next start.

Damon is a great shooter with range. He can break a game open like he did tonight.

The opportunities and the game situation are going to tell the eventual tale of how many attempts he has. But I'm hoping that it presents itself as much as it did because that means he's getting on base as part of our offense.

The two walks and the ball in center field that dropped obviously were bigger contributors in that inning than the missed call on the check swing.
