It started after talking with quite a few sportsmen in the area, hunters, anglers and shooting sports enthusiasts who have come to the conclusion that Western North Carolina gets overlooked in regards to (outdoor) issues.

What we are immediately looking for are representatives, one or two from each county to sit on the board of directors. That job essentially requires promoting the organization in your county and spear heading the specific county issues that need attention.

The shooting has taken place in an area frequented by the Tigers.

It was automatic. We were always on the same wavelength even before we started shooting.

Hunters will have the opportunity to hear first hand why these parishes fall in the Area 8 structure. They can also ask questions of the biologists regarding the harvest and season framework.

We've done a much better job this year with our shooting. I felt like that was the biggest area of improvement we needed.
