It sounds like bad news, but we're progressing. We're closing them down in accordance with the Division of Labor's directive to work on the elevators to make them more operational.

We wanted a better solution to provide more elevator service while work is in progress.

All of the elevators are aging. Uniformly throughout the campus, they're older elevators.

It may be sooner, but we're trying to be a little cautious. It's definitely not pleasant to shut down the elevators in Building 5, but the plan is moving forward.

The brightest news for the year is significant job growth across every industry sector. When employers add jobs as they did throughout 2005, more opportunities are available for Texans in the workforce.

The addition of jobs by Texas employers, as well as the declining unemployment rate, is great news for the labor market.
