It shows no-one knows how fast a man can run

I feel really good that I got through. It's early in the season, I'm really fresh on the track.

I was quite nervous out there. I haven't been on the (Melbourne) track for almost a year now, so I need the confidence. But I'm the world record holder and I had to prove that I am.

That guy is a great starter but I knew I had it from the start.

That was my first major championships back in 2002 and I didn't get to perform as well as I wanted to because I was young and I was just coming up.

If I thought about (the record), I would have broken it but the key is to have fun. (The fans) are crazy out here. It's like I was in Jamaica. I'm excited to see the people. The fans are what fuel me.
