It opens the door to a lot of mischief. An initiative campaign isn't an easy process. It's a huge effort that takes a lot of time to let the public speak on an issue.

They (lawmakers) don't like people telling them how to do their job.

Citizens need a way to influence the process. The whole system is bogged down with undue influence by corporate interests with unlimited resources that ordinary citizens don't have.

It was a complete team effort.

Our goal is to kick off the rebuilding effort. It's certainly long overdue and I can only go from the reports that we get that it's behind, absolutely. People are frustrated.

It doesn't take a whole lot of effort to get it going. We just bring a few chairs, some water and a few balls.
