It might have been easier to win the first time. Repeating is much more difficult. I think we showed a lot of heart and determination all year and didn't let anything get to us.

For two years, he helped us tremendously with our conditioning. Shawn worked individually with our kids and got them in better shape. He also did it on his own.

I told the kids that those losses would make us tougher in the long run. Records don't mean anything at the end of the season. It was hard to bite the bullet, losing those games early on. But I told our team that they don't count losses. They count championships. I think they all learned a lot from the schedule.

It's been a long time coming, but now we have a fine facility for first responders.
