It makes wildlife management pretty difficult.

State fish and wildlife agencies are pretty much funding themselves. They do a tremendous job on a shoestring budget, but that is very difficult without a reliable funding source. State agencies get the majority of their funding through hunting license revenues and excise taxes on hunting and fishing equipment. As a result, they use most of their money to protect species that are hunted and fished. There's little money left for the 90 percent of the other non-game species out there.

In large quantities, that's dangerous to wildlife.

One trip through a mountain bog with an ATV can be devastating to certain habitats and wildlife associated with it.

Everybody thinks wildlife is cool. And these photographs are a way to bring home to people that we have these kinds of animals here in Tucson.

Our main interest is conserving the scenery and the wildlife in the park for generations to come, and one way to do that is through knowledge. So those cameras are a good way to get that information.
