It just worked out. I fell in love with Napa and Brother Gary hired me. I think it's the best move I've ever made. I love Napa and probably will stay here.

A great thing about this position is that you develop a lot of friendships through coaching and through being an athletic director, and I still have a lot of close relationships with a lot of people in Napa. I've met some great people that I still keep in contact with. I still maintain relationships with people, even in Southern California, that I used to work with and coach with down there.

This is a huge opportunity. They should have blown me away, and they didn't.

More and more people are talking about the 'one community' concept, and emphasize that the university and the community are very closely related. The success of one means the success of the other.
