It is pride that conforms you to the image of evil, and humility that makes you better than others.

Pride is the railway tracks on which all sin runs and the locomotive that pulls it all is Deception.

Pride can be defined as any deliberate thought, spoken word or behaviour (positive do or neglect to do) where you are trying to either take over any of God's functions or deny any of His character.

The glue that keeps Pride together is a 'heart of stone'. To resolve Pride is to acquire a 'heart of flesh' where humility can grow. Only God can provide you with a 'soft heart', one that can feel pain again and respond to it appropriately.

The only way to resolve pride is to be humiliated by a fall, and for rebellion to develop a fear for God.

Your patient has become humble; have you drawn his attention to the fact? All virtues are less formidable to us once the man is aware that he has them, but this is specially true of humility.
