It is potentially a harmful message to very young kids,

We want to teach the kids how to think, how to analyze and how to find connections.

What is harmful to kids is to give them a first-year teacher. That is absolutely the wrong thing you can do in terms of learning gains.

We take and take and take from these kids - and what are they going to do? The bottom line is, you've got a bunch of kids with nothing to do - and things escalate. .... You have to listen to kids. We stop doing that as adults.

This is not just for me, it's for kids not born yet.

By working closely with these kids it makes you think as a teacher about things you can do to improve in those areas with all your kids.
