It is a play I've been looking at for a number of years. The problem was that I couldn't figure out how to get past some of the more risqué parts. Hawn's character spends much of her time in her lingerie. But I had my daughter look at it and she said we could do it and recommended some good alternatives that will make it acceptable to our audiences.

We added the weekday performance several years ago. Since we're performing already, we thought it might be an interesting change and proved to be quite successful. It is usually one of the first nights to sell out.

It's a comedy that is touching at times. It's poignant with the characters riding an emotional merry-go-round. But it also isn't that different from what we've done in the past. It's very similar to most of Neil Simon's work and we've done just about all of his plays. While there is some innuendo, it is at its heart something that our audience will really enjoy with their families.

The cool thing about Haskins is that he was basically colorblind. He never understood why white players couldn't play against black players and vice versa. It made no sense to him. He just wanted to find the best players he could recruit — no matter who they were or where they were from, as long as they had potential. It was as simple as that to him.
