It feels really nice to be honored. But it's not really for me. It's more of an honor for our entire coaching staff ---- and it shows who we are as a program.

Our kids showed a lot of heart and wrestled real hard all day. I don't think it was easy. The score doesn't reflect how hard these kids work.

I thought we did a great job and our kids wrestled well. My hat's off to San Clemente ---- they were banged up and their kids still came out with a lot of heart and put it all on the line. I have a lot of respect for them.

It's bragging rights in your hometown. Who doesn't want to be the guy to go to 7-Eleven and be able to say they're the king of the town?

Anytime a kid wins, it's awesome, and I'm so excited for the guys who do make it. But I'm heartbroken for the kids who don't. You never win. When you bring 12 it's tough to win them all.

Although there was a point with the Tijuana Brass where we were playing for such huge crowds that I kind of lost contact. At one point, the only connection I had with the audience was with people out there lighting cigarettes.
