In the U.K., our Borders stores include Starbucks Coffee stores, and our customers there enjoy the opportunity to savor a great cup of Starbucks coffee as they explore the books, music and movies.

Our customers are excited about this line and enjoy trying them when they come into our stores. They seem able to envision Outback's hanging chairs out in their backyards by their pools or in their screened porches overlooking their pools.

It’s been a tough couple of years for condescending nerds. And if bookstores fall, Jon, America will be inundated with a wandering, snarky underclass of unemployable purveyors of useless and arcane esoterica.

I just relocated here and to me there aren't enough stores. But I don't want to see it become Brick Township, either. As it is, I won't come here from Thursday to Sunday in the summer because of the traffic.

Enjoy the ride because sometimes that's all you have. Sometimes, on the other side there's nothing but a trash can a whole bunch of people there to watch you throw up in it.

In larger stores and areas, there is more anonymity from customers. We try to take away as much as that (anonymity) as we can.
