In the beginning, the only benefit it really had was the right to upgrade. But since [Microsoft] has added so many new benefits over the years, many more people are looking at it now.

In the beginning, when it first started, it was a great thing. But it's been blown out of proportion now. To think that a person would shoot in a crowd. I wouldn't think a person would even attempt to do something like that.

Microsoft is making Windows Enterprise an entitlement of Software Assurance, and before you could buy it separately. This affects a significant number of [Gartner] clients that have presence across the globe, multinational companies.

It will force other vendor to rethink their licensing strategies and over time will cause them to make changes to stay competitive with Microsoft.

I believe right now we have too many hotels in the city that are competing with one another. We need to find a way to fill those rooms.

He just wants a respectable deal to play under for the years to come, and right now we are not at that point with Minnesota. With the right to match, the urgency isn't there, and that is understandable from a business aspect.
