In sports, there are not a lot of times when you can walk away from the game on your own terms.

We all agreed that in order for it to happen there had to be some give here and there. I think one of the big ones was Tom understanding the situation and me giving him my utmost word that while I am out here I am going to be training hard and things are going to work out for the best and not to worry about it. ... It is difficult for him to just let a player go whenever he wants to go home. So I won't abuse the system.

I'm a realist. I don't think they're going to open up ESPN the next day with my story,

I'm not going to make any decisions publicly until I sit down and talk to Tom and my family and take time to reflect on things. I had a great time this season. I just wish, as we all do, that it could have kept going. But it was a great year.

It's just a number. I'll ask for the ball if we win. But if it's a good kicking ball, we want to keep it in the game.

I think it will be something special. It's a byproduct of being around so many years – you start piling up the kicks. It will be nice to be in the record books. But it's not a big deal for me. They're not going to stop the game for me.
